You can see then why people who live by integrity in their business life may not seem to get their reward on time! You have to be good steadily, on a constant basis, throughout the day, even if it’s in a minor way. And you have to keep it up for a good while. Lastly, you have to leave time for the plants to grow—for this is the very nature of cause and effect, and of imprints acting in the potential.

There are a few more details here that will speed up the process markedly. If you understand the process while you are keeping the six-time book, the book works that much better. That is, stop every once in a while to reflect on what’s really happening. You’re having a problem in your business life—in exactly the same market or company or department where lots of other people don’t have this problem—because you have imprints in your mind that make you see things differently than these other people. And you’re on a quest to seek out these imprints and disable them, by planting the opposite imprint.

Knowing how it all works, keeping your mind on how it all works, makes it all work a lot faster and a lot more powerfully. This also explains why some people who appear to have a lot of integrity in business don’t seem to be doing so well at any given time. It’s not enough to live your business life even by a strict code of ethics if you’re only doing so by instinct, or under duress imposed by the law, the custom in your industry, the behavior of your peers, or just strong advice from another person who can’t explain to you how it all works. Your ethical way of living and doing business must be driven by a clear and conscious awareness of what kind of imprints this behavior will plant in your subconscious, and how this will determine the very reality of the rest of your business career.
